Chief Financial Officer
Eric J. Strucko is Chief Financial Officer of the University of Virginia Physicians Group. As the CFO, he is one of the principal liaisons between the Physicians Group, the clinical departments, the Medical Center and the University of Virginia to develop, maintain and monitor financial operations to meet the goals of the Physicians Group. He works closely with other executive staff, and is directly responsible for planning, organizing and directing all aspects of the Finance Department, including the development/administration of policies on finance, accounting, internal controls, budget, payroll and investments. In addition, he is directly responsible for oversight of the management staff, whether employed by the Physicians Group or those assigned by the Medical Center under a subcontracted arrangement, for the design and administration of state-of-the-art financial and billing and collections information systems support services required to operate the Physicians Group. Eric is also responsible for the planning and management of facilities owned or leased by the Physicians Group.
Eric holds a B.A. from Vanderbilt University, an M.P.A. from George Washington University, an M.P.P. from Georgetown University, and an A.A. in emergency medical services from Piedmont Virginia Community College.
Prior to joining the UVA Physicians Group in 2007, Eric held management positions with the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)® Institute in Charlottesville, Virginia, the University of Virginia Medical Center, the Executive Office of the President of the United States, Office of Management and Budget, and the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, both in Washington, D.C.
